happy new years eve. a year in review.

its new years eve everyone!

i'm stoked for 2010!

its going to be a great year!

i've decided to take an idea from my blogging friend jacque and do a year in review.

just so ya'll can see what i've been up to!

{january}--

in january i planned and participated in my last convention with my old job. i was sad to leave, but excited for new adventures!

{february}--

i had a lot of health issues in february, most of my month consisted of proceedures, doctors offices, blood tests, and all around blckiness. -- i also quit my job to move to california and attend make up school.

{march}--

march was pretty un-eventful for me. i ended up not moving to california, OR attending make-up school. i mostly just sat on my duff. -- in march, however, i decided to attend a different school that was closer to home. keep reading to see if that ever happend.

{april}--

i spent most of april in my home town of st. george, ut! it was sissykins 21st birthday and so i was there with her. i threw her a mad hatter tea party themed birthday, it was a blast. i also ate a lot of spoon me while there, and way too many 25 main cupcakes.

{may}

in may i started planning for my big move, and the start of my new school.

{june}

june marked the 1st anniversary of moving to our new state, and it also brought mom and dad's 25th wedding anniversary. (25 years! wow-sa!) to celebrate, we all went to jakson hole and yellowstone. it was my first time ever going, and i've never seen anywhere (in the united states) so beautiful (minus the red rocks of st. george...). -- michael jackson died this month too. -- i packed up all my stuff in anticipation of my up coming move. 

{july}

i moved away from home, and set out on the road to become an official uvu student!                                       {<--here i am bawling like a baby cause i'm going to miss my babies so much!} - i had a blast living in utah again with my very best friend ever! but the truth of the matter was, i was having a really tough time finding a job, and was starting to worry how i was going to pay all my current bills, along with school and rent on top of that.

{august}

oh august! boo got baptized into our church (such an awesome event), we took a nice long trip to california (and had a mini family reunions along the way), and i turned the big 2-4. i also moved back home because of lack of a job in utah. i was really sad to leave, but i felt it was the right thing to do.

{september}

i was hunkering down, getting ready for the snow. it was sure to come soon! brothey turned 18 which made me feel somewhat old...

{october}

i left my old blog and started this one. sissykins moved in (huzzah!) and we celebrated halloween together. such a blast. oh and i colored my hair haley williams (of paramore) red.

{november}

thanksgiving time! this year was spent just the 8 of us at home, but i learned a lot from our new thanksgiving traditions. - oh and how could i forget! november brought the release of new moon.

{december}

december is where i stand now. having had an awesome christmas, (and mourning the death of brittany murphey) i look forward to the new year with bright hopes and anxious anticipation! bring it on 2010!!!

saw the secret window for the first time tonight.

i will probably never watch it again.

(interesting, but one of those flicks that when you've seen it once, you've seen all you need to see.)

but you know what my favorite part about the movie was?

johnny depp's look.

oh yeah.

i love the way he dressed in the film!

(when he was in something other than his robe...)

{daily} smiles #6

today was a smiling day for sure.

10 smiles to be exact.

*i colored someone's hair and got paid {smile #1},

*there was left over color that i took back and exchanged for 3 bottles of nail polish {smiles #2, 3 & 4} (one for each bottle of course).

*then i bought some much needed make up

(i've been squeezing every last drop out of my old bottle.) {smile #5}

*after that i went to f.h.e., and got invited to a party while i was there. {smiles #7 & 8}

*read bedtime stories to boo and little m {smile 9}

*and ended the night with phase 10 {phase 10 = smile #10}

whew.

what awesomeness this day had!

i'm happy and i know it,

phase 10.

played {phase 10} tonight with mom, and sissykins.

caspian.

this little kitty has been hanging out on our front and back porch since christmas eve.

we'd let him in and claim him as our own, but our cat doesn't seem to like "caspian" (the name i have chosen for the poor lonley little thing) very much. - somehow, he snuck into the house yesterday. luckily cat was asleep in my room and didn't notice before i put caspian back outside.

santa baby.

every year my mom begs us older kids to take a picture with santa,

and every year we protest, but eventually give in.

this year, we stood our ground.

until....

tonight.

us four oldest kids broke down,

and ran to the mall to have our picture snapped with santa baby.

here is what it looks like when you wait till the last minute,

catch santa right before he leaves,

and have one chance with the cell phone camera.

not. too. cute.

but that's that.

wow. this year has flown by.

i think i like christmas eve better than christmas.

everyone is still excited, and joyful.

my favorite part of christmas are the traditions.

our traditions are:

every christmas eve, we have a delectible feast.

then, before bedtime, dad reads the first part of the christmas story

(when the angel comes to mary to tell her she will have baby Jesus),

and he puts on his christmas socks that he wears every year, and only on christmas. 

for bed, all the kids sleep in the same room and watch christmas movies,

and read christmas stories, and listen to christmas songs all night.

christmas morning, dad reads the second half of the christmas story (the birth of baby Jesus),

we open presents, eat our yummy breakfast,

and then later in the afternoon we all go see a movie together.

christmas traditions are the greatest.

chronicles of narnia: voyage of the dawn treader (10th)

j'adore the narnia movies and books. sad disney quit doing them,

but happy 20th century fox picked them up!

also happy that delicious ben barnes is back again as caspian.

ugh. so many i know.
